Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this outstanding Egyptian eye from an anthropoid sarcophagus. The eye remains completely intact with bronze cosmetic details which frame the piece. The focus of the piece is the alabaster inlay of the eye. This masterfully formed piece was placed on the face of the sarcophagus and was created in the form of the Eye of Horus. Presented on a custom display stand, this is an excellent addition to any collection. The piece measures 3" in diameter (3.25" in height with stand). Egypt, 26th Dynasty (664 - 525 B.C.). For a similar example see Christie's, New York, Antiquities, December 18th, 1998, Lot 23.
