Relics of the Nile

Guest Book
Egyptian 3rd Int. Pd. Faience Ushabti!

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this ancient Egyptian 3rd Intermediate Period upper ushabti fragment. This upper torso from an ushabti remains in a condition that is somewhat worn, but the headcloth, arms, face, etc. are still evident on the ushabti. Some of the painted features such as the "shesh" headcloth are still present and the sulk and hoe, and seed sack on the back are still visible, although the original pigment is worn. The piece has been rejoined at the neck area, but this does little to detract. The ushabti itself measures a very pleasant 2" in height The total display height with stand is 3.75". The colors on the piece are very solid and remain completely original to this piece. The piece dates from the 3rd Intermediate Period (1,070 - 900 B.C.). A nice addition to any Egyptian collection.
