For the last four years, I have researched every aspect of this self-portrait to confirm its artist identity!! Today, I can confirm the artist of this self-portrait, it is ROY FOX LICHTENSTEIN!! I was able to match the 1956 signature to the “rather primitive notion of patterned linear repetition”, or unknown markings (which look like Hebrew) on the side of an airplane in the RFL’s drawing “AIRPLANE 1961”. Similar markings can be found on the RFL’s TEN DOLLAR BILL 1956 Lithograph...

This is a Early 1820 Portrait of U.S Senator William Pinkney (1764-1822)of the state of Maryland. He was a outstanding Maryland Lawyer and was from Annapolis and then Baltimore. Early in our research, the Portrait appears to be in the style of Charles Willson Peale. (1741-1827). The Portrait measures 30" x 24" and is mounted in a new style gold leaf frame. The Painting has been restored and mounted on board.

This is a Signed and Dated Portrait by Fr. Schell. The artist trained under Thomas Eakins and his influence can be seen in this portrait. The artist was from Philadelphia and connected with the Philadelphia Fine Arts Museum. It is mounted in a new goldleaf frame and the canvas measures 24 1/2" x 20 1/2". Excellent Condition.

This portrait was purchased in Georgia from the West Family. The owner had been a partner in the Law Firm King and Spaulding. The portrait appears to be of a Lawyer or a Justice. This high quality portrait measures 20" x 16". It has been relined. We are researching this painting and will advise progress later. Our research indicates that this is a portrait of a young Joseph Story(1779-1845). This portrait is painted in the style of Gilbert Stuart.

This is a early 19th century American Folk Art Oil on canvas Portrait of a gentleman by Erastus Salisbury Field. This could possibly be a self-portrait of Field. He is seated in a chair and he is wearing a stick pin and has a gold chain. It is in its original frame and the frame has some damage and has been repainted gold. Porfirio Salinas (American Artist) 1910-1973. This painting is signed on the lower left corner and measures approx. 20" tall x 24" and is in Excellent condition. These are the dimension of the painting. The owner purchased this painting in the early 1950's in Texas. It has hung in her living room ever since. This Abstract Expressionist painting dates to 1957, and it has a partial signature on the lower left corner. It measures 38" x 28" and has a small amount of paint loss. Notice the bright and unique colors and with heavy inpasto brushwork. On 5/3/04, I presented this painting to the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation for review where I had a brief meeting with the assistant director. The painting was not confirmed, however, the painting will remain under review and evaluation...

The 19th century oil on canvas portrait of a gentleman was said to be Thomas Johnston from Concord, NC (Sept. 1850). It was marked on the original canvas (relined) bought in Davie County.
