The size of Covered Bowl: 4 3/8" Dia x 3" High. Pretty deep blue Gosu color Japanese Blue and white Ko Imari Covered Bowl. It has the design of Kiku(chrysanthemum) and Karakusa design done in deep blue uderglaze nicely painted. The body of bowl is made from nice quality procelain with good glazing finish. Inside center with Sho-Chiku-Bai design. The rim area of bowl and lid has Raimon pattern well painted in controlled lines. The condition of bowl is excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. A couple of Hittsuki inside bowl. The cover knob has little kiln flaw with indentation on the rim, but it is glazed. The cover fit well. Dating from end of Edo, around 1850-1860.
