The size of Charger Bowl:14 1/8" Dia x 2 5/8" High. Wonderful Japanese Aote Kutani Bowl from Edo period. It has the design of O-Kuge peoples(imperial family) who gather the iris from the pond. The workmenship and design is superb. It has large pine tree on left side. There are noble Kuge standing with fan on his hand. There is Kosho(child attentand) on his back. Then, one mand with green robe. Another one in the water to hand over Iris. The water is done in beautiful Gosu blue. There are a lots of gold works on the ground with fine lines. The brdiges are also by gold. There are several houses behind pine tree in background. In front of those house with fine gold works. The back side of charger with three pink peony flower works. It has Kutani marking on the center. The material of charger by earthen body. The condition of charger excellent, no chip, no carack and no hairline. Very little wear on surface. A couple of tiny wear spots on the foot rim. Dating from late Edo period, 1800-1850. Your can see more close up photos ot this item at Trocadero #1192095.
