Japanese Porcelain Kame, Turtle Kogo by Seifu Yohei 5th

The size of Turtle Kogo: 2 3/4" L x 2" W x 2" H. (7cm x 5cm x 5cm). Seimi Porcelain Kame (turtle) Kogo by Seifu Yohei 5th. Kogo has the color of blue, black, brown and green on the back of Kame. It is signed, "Seifu" on the back og Kogo. It came with Tomobako. The cover said in Japanese, "Kame Kogo". Inside cover has "Seifu zo"(Seifu made) with chop seal of Seifu. The condition of Kogo excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. It is guarantee the work done by Seifu Yohei 5th.

Seifu Yohei 5th Dating of Kogo around 1950-60's. (1921-1990)
He was born as the eldest son of Seifu Yohei IV (1871-1951). 4th was the son of Seifu Yohei III(1851-1914) who was Tsishitsu-gigeiin ( Imperial house hold artist). Seifu family was promient potter family since 1st Seifu Yohei (1803-1863) who studied potting technique under Ninami Dohachi. 1st Seifu Yoehi opend his kiln around 1827 at Kyoto Gojozaka area. 5th Seifu has developed unique style of potting and decorating techniques. His works are getting popular in Japan as well as in USA. Some item being auctioned at Bonhams auction and others.
