The size of Obi: 12 3/4" Wide x 160" Long. Gorgeous Japanese Silk Brocade Maru Obi. Obi has one side been saw (because of inside kata gami has been removed, the end is open) and other side is folded. It is most gorgeous Japanese Brocade Obi seen. I had this Obi last 40 years. Obi has the design of Tsutsumi(hand held Japanese Drum) with Ho-O bird on left above. Above Tsutsumi, there are group of Matsu(pine tree), Botan(peony), Kiku(chrysanthemum), Ume(plum), tassels design, building and others. Too many to mention. This is most intricately woven Japanese Brocde Obi. Brocade Obi is made by silk as well as real gold thread works. My photos does not justify the quality of Obi woven. Obi has total 7 Tsutumi design each side of Obi. So there are total of 14 Tsutumi design as well as other part. The condition of Obi excellent, no stain. There is little age worn but well conserved. Dating from Taisho 1920's.
