The size of Satsuma Vase: 7 1/8" High x 3 1/2" Dia(widest). It is very unusual Japanese Satsuma Vase. The vase is made with Tsuru-Kubi style(crane neck) vase with fine satsuma cracle glazing. It has two window design, one with Kuge(imperial family) design, and other window with merchant family beautifully painted by fine gold works. The rest of vase area with completely filled with gold works. It has Karakusa design as well as clouds form accented with red and green works. The condition of vase excellent, other than little wear on the top rim and on spot at the side of vase where red strip between windows. Dating from Meiji period, 1870-1890. It has marking on the bottom of vase. It show looks like San-Ya-Sha. It is very fine works. Vase sit well. According to Satsuma book by Oomori Kazuo, San-Ya-Sha was satsuma stuido from Tokyo area
