The Size of Tea Bowl:4 11/16” Dia x 2 1/2” High (120 mm x 63 mm). This is attractive Japanese Chawan with Ameyu ( candy glazing). It is made of earthen ware body. It came with Tomobako. The cover of Tomobako has Japanese written, “Ame-yu” (candy glazing), “Chawan”(tea bowl). Also came with Tomonuno, matching cloth with Tozan seal. The condition of Chawan Excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. We do not have Ito Tozan 4 th profile yet available.. But their family is one of most prominent potter in Kyoto as widely known. The Chawan was made in 1970’s after Ito Tozan passed away 1970. Ito Tozan 4th succeeded in Showa 45, 1970 after Ito Tozan 3rd was passed away.
Ito Tozan 1st(1846-1920) was member of Teishitsu Gigeiin.
Ito Tozan 2nd(1871-1937).
