The size of Makie Stand: 6 7/8” Sq x 6 1/4” High. Large Sake Cup: 4 3/16” Dia x 1 1/2” High, Medium Cup:3 7/8” Dia x 1 1/4” High, Small Cup: 3 3/8” Dia x 3 1/8” High. This is beautiful Japanese Makie Stand (called Kagetsu) and Sakazuki (Sake cup set) in 3 pcs. The design on stand is by Susuki (pampass grass). All Cups are done in Takamakie with gold and silver finish. They are made by high quality Makie. Large Cup has Moon and flower design, Medium Cup has bird and plant design, Small Cup has Ume (plum) design. The set came with storing wooden box. The condition of Stand has minor nick on the edge as photo showing. There is one hairline inside corner in the size of 3 cm which going thru in the back, but it is so minor and hard to see the line on the back. The cups are all in excellent condition. The set are hardly used. Japanese writing on the box said, “Susuki Makie Kagetsu Dai”. Kagetsudai is used for at the celebration of viewing the moon (Otsukimi) in October which pampass grass growing that time. The set were made in Bakumatsu, 1850-1860.
