The size of Vase: 8 1/2” High x 4 7/8” Dia. The vase was made by Miyanaga Tozan 2 nd. The vase is made by ceramic body rather than porcelain body. The vase has very deep red color glaze with Kin Hakeme (gold hakeme, brush works). It came with Tomobako as well as Tomonuno with seal of artist. The cover has Japanese writing, “Fuka Beni-yu Kin Hakeme” (deep red glaze with gold Hakeme). “Hanaike” (flower vase). The condition of vase excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. The vase has Tozan's signature in blue underglaze. Dating the vase from 1950-1960's.
Miyanaga Tozan 2nd (1907-1995):
He has studied under Miyanaga Tozan 1st (1868-1941), He has succeeded Tozan
2nd in Showa 16th, 1941. He was skillful as Miyanaga Tozan 1st. He created
many tea ceremony utensils as well as, flower relating porcelain works with
using different techniques and glazing. He was the committee member of Kyoto
Traditional Art and Crafts association.
