| The size of Bowl: 6" Dia x 2" High. Japanese Ko Imari Sometsuke Porcelain Bowl. It is the one of most wonderfully painted in Seometsuke bowl ever seen. The bowl is made with fine quality porcelain. The center bowl has Sho Chiku Bai design. The surrounding bowl has beautiful and most intricately painted of Karakusa design finely excuted with fine brush work and uniformely colored gosu blue. Same manner on the outside with Karakusa design. The edge of bowl has gold decorated which is also unusual. It is marked Seika Nensei. The condition of bowl is excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. There is one spot which last photo showing, it is born this way, Kamahi(original kiln spot before entering kiln) spot, 1 cm long which has completely glazed and it does not catch the finger nail, backside has on same spot has only 2mm long which also completely glazed from kiln. Same way but very little ones around the bowl completely glazed. Touching the bowl surface is very nice. The bowl sit well. Dating frmo Edo Chuki(middle Edo), middle 18th century. 1740-60. Minor Kamahi does not take away the beauty of this bowl. | |||||||||||||||
