| The size of Scroll Painting: 50" Long x 26" Wide, painting area size: 15 3/4" Long x 22" Wide. The scroll painting done on paper. The border are done in brocade and top and bottom also done in silk. The scroll end(jiku) end has bone finsh. Very nice Japanese macaue, Japanese monkey(Nihon Zaru) painting playing with Japanese new year badmington ball(made by fether). The expression of Monkey as well as the hair are finely painted technique. The painting done by Sumi and little bit color of brown and red. The scroll is painted by Yagyu Ensen in 1944(Showa 19th) as marked on lower scroll with Ensen signature as well as his chop seal. The writing on scroll end said, "Yagyu Ensen artist painted monkey design.". The condition of scroll excellent, very little wear on top of right side end. No noticeable stain and no tear.
