The size of Kogo: 2" L x 1 3/4" W x 1 1/2" Japanese Shigaraki Yaki Kogo. The kogo made by artist Rakusai who is well know Shigaraki artist. The form of Tanuki(racoon). Very nicely made with Tanuki's expression. It is signed Rakusai's "Ra" in Hiragana. It came with Kiri wood tomobako with Rakusai signature and chop seal. The condition of item excellent. Takahashi Rakusai(born meiji 32, 1899 to Showa 51th, 1976). Takahasi Rakusai 1st was master Shigaraki artist who was side by side with Ueda Naokata. He won Grand prize at Brussels World Expo and he was also intangible cultural properties in Shiga Prefecture where Shigaraki ware are made. |
