Very large and impressive brown-glazed Bartmannskrug or Bellarmine Jug, Raeren, Germany c. Late 17th.- early 18th century AD.

The jug with lovely warm brown glaze and a detailed bartmann on the neck and a small ring handle.

Size: c. 42 cm. tall!

Condition: Extremely fine, completely intact!

Provenance: The Estate of Carl-johan Hummeltoft (1958-2020), Birkerød, Denmark...

An exceptional bellarmine jug or Bartmannskrug as they are called in Europe. Made in Germany, cologne region, probably Frechen, late 16th. century AD., and exported to Holland, as it's bearing a medallion with the Coat of Arms of Amsterdam.

A superb 'Bartmanns Krug', Germany, Rhineland, probably Cologne, 16th.-early 17th. century AD.

Exceptional quality 'tigerskin' glazing, nice details and typical of the later renaissance German wine or beer jugs.

Condition: Extremely fine for type, no repairs.

A lovely salt-glazed brown ceramic Jug with full pewter mount, Germany, 18th. century AD.

A gem of a German brown glazed jug with twisted, rilled corpus and a finely made pewter lid and mount over handle and footring. Rare jug engraved in 1787 on lid, probably somehwt earlier manifacture around 1770s.

Size: 31 cm. tall.

Condition: Extremely fine for this type, no cracks or hairlines, no repairs and a finely preserved lid.

The saltglazed Steing decorated with a beautiful scene of a landschkneckt walking in a lanscape with a castle in the background. Very high quality and rare. Impressive pewter mount with large ball thumbrest and medallion in the lid with the portrait of a German ruler.

Condition: Choice for type! A thin hairline at the handle and some minimal glaze chips, othervise superb.

Choice large faiance Tankard /Stein with German pewtermarks of a castle /towers and unreadable date, later 18th. century.

Fine tin glazed hand painted finish over a white glaze and it's painted with a leaping stag in a landscape with trees. It's pewter mounted hinged top has a reeded ball thumb-piece. And the base with a fine pewter mount as well. The pewter contemporay and original to bthe Stein.

Scarce pottery Jug, Varde in Denmark, ca. 16th.-18th. century AD.

These black-glazed pottery jugs and pots were made from medieval times to 19th. century. This particular jug is one of the finest examples we've seen from the region around Varde that produced the best pottery in Jutland. Finely made with glossy black glaze.

Size: 20-21 cm. tall, incl. the lid.

Condition: Hairline repairs and small chip to lid, as is typical for this fragile type...

A important rare massive size German stoneware pouring jug, Westerwald, ca. 1780-1820 AD.

Jug with cobalt glaze of floral motifs with a birds wing, original pewter lid with no stamps. Fantastic size and very decorative, a must for collectors of early German pottery.

Condition: Superb, noting to remark, unusually nice condition for such a large old Westerwald jug.

A superb quality Early German salt-glazed stoneware pottery tankard, Raeren, Germany, ca. 1800s type.

Greyware with brown saltglaze and a ribbed decoration on the body.

Pewter lid. Stamped on the inside of the lid with makersmarks, dated 1830.

Size: 21,8 cm.

Condition: Choice for type, completely intact with micro ding to the body, no repair or damage. Wonderful patina.

A large, Museum Quality tomb pottery figure of a female attendant. Se carries a dish in front of her chest.

The figure dates to Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD.

The figure is placed on a large Lotus throne on top of high hexagonal plint, both are in fine deep cobolt blue and turquiose coloured glaze, as is the robe.

Her hair is styled very artfully and her head has finely hand painted facial details. Lotus thrones are very rare for Ming pottery figures.
