SUPERB SET OF PRE-COLUMBIAN MAYAN BLACK-GREEN JADE CELTS, c. 350 - 600 A.D.

Set consist of three small jade celts superbly polished with really sharp edges and great symethrical details in the polishing. Very attractive green-black stone.

Size: c. 40-52 mm. in length. Axes of this size were as votive offerings or handiwork axes, we are not certain. Ccording to the experts, Jade was the most precious material to the Maya - more precious than gold...

A very rare pre columbian wooden sceptre in the form of a ritual knife, Chancay, 1100-1400 AD.

A very attractive long knife with beautyful ancient patina. The knife has a small monkey figurine mounted on top.

The blade it self is engraved with a mysterious sign and the sign of a bird further down the blade (see the enlargement)...
