This figure comes from a very rare group of 'Edged' Tomb pottery figures.

The shape of the figures are sort of 'edged' or flat in the design and they are on a pair of rather peculiar bases, that we haven't seen before. They are clad in fine two-colour blue-glazed robes. The figure - a male - wears a high black hat and carries a book in his hand.
