A fine example of a Tibetan portable Gau Shrine in the open arched box shape, 19th. century.

It is quite uncommon to find examples that are decorated with such fine silverwork. High grade silver front in repousse and exquisitely chased floral and leaf scrollwork, combined with dragons, animals and a demon, that is typical of Eastern Tibet, The back of finely patinated cobber.
