An extremmely rare and important Hittite stone head of a ram, dating to 13th-12th. cent. BC. from Aserbadjan The head is around lifesize, huge and weighs around 10 kilograms! The ram's head was sold on Lauritz de Luxe auctions in 2007, estimated €2700. The provenance is a Swedish Private Collection and originally sold at Victoria Lindström Antik in the 1950s (see add from the auction in the pictures!) Condition: Choice and intact for the type and period. |
