A strictly museum quality, South-Italian bell krater, c. 450-410 BC.
Exceptional krater with finely drawn red figures of two men with spears, one of them holding a bird. The other side features two women facing in long robes.
Very important krater in thick pottery, measuring 29 cm. between the handles and c. 26 cm. in height.
Condition: Superb! Only a small area on the rim (couple of cm's) is restored (pictured), othervise is the krater completely unrestored!! Very rare and a nice opportunity to aquire a good condition krater at a modest price.
Provenance: Jerichow collection, bought at Winkel & Magnussen auctionsale 1938. This piece comes with COA, guaranteed authentic for life!
