Hittite scaraboid shell seal dating to the mid-later 2nd. mill. BC. The seal meassure 16x14 mm. and is carved as an Egyptian scarab with the beettle only outlined with a few lines on the back. The underside engraved with a vivid image of a dragon wielding a sword. Condition: Superb, patinated. Ex Danish collection, bought in Syria 1954 |
