A superbly engraved Hematite cylinder seal of Assyrian period Syria, c. mid 2nd. mill. BC or slightly later. The seal is engraved with a nice variety of different animals including cow, goat or deer, scorpion and a winged animal, possibly a butterfly (?). Size: c. 17 mm. Condition: Superb! Exceptionally sharp engraving and beautyful stone with a fine patina. |
