A rare and very large Mesopotamian cylinder seal, dating to the Early Dynastic/Akkadian period, c. 2400-2200 B.C. A huge seal measuring 24 mm. in diameter and 32 mm. in height / length. The thickness makes the imprint very large - a contest scene with gods and animals among which a rearing lion and a bull. Condition: Choice some wear, but very nice quality for the type. Ex.
