A very large cylinder seal in black stone, Syria, 2nd. mill. BC The seal is from the group of very large seals with Syrian iconography of the late 2nd. millenium BC. The seal has three figures engraved, one of which is nude and poossibly a female godess. Another figure is standing on the back of a horned animal, possibly Sandan (?). In between, a couple of scorpions tails and a pillar. Size: 54 mm. Condition: Superb. Ex Hirsch |
