Massive Roman patriciers silver ring, 30 grams!

A massive silver ring from a wealthy home, could be a patricier or rich merchant family, dating to 1st.-2nd. century AD.

The ring weighs around 30 grams, perhaps a little less. This weight would equal 10 denarii - a large sum in the early roman period!.

The ring itself, with very broad shoulders, engraved details and a large bezel, which is likely a banded agate stone.

The ring is the largest we've ever sold, an unsual and attractrive antiquity. Condition: Nice, very good metal with a wonderful ancient patina.

Provenance: Old German Private Collection and ex Esteemed auction house, details will be inclosed.
