A rare and very large pottery figure of an attendant or official, dating to the earlier Ming Dynasty, 1400-1500 AD.
The figure stands of a high hexagonal plint in his fine two-colour blue-glazed robe. The belt in red pigment and the high hat in black pigment. Fine painted facial details.
The head is attachable as often seen on the largest figures from this period. Over the shoulder he holds a carrying device, going down his back.
Size: The figure measure c. 40 cm. Very impressive and heavy conversation piece!
Condition: Superb, finely preserved glaze and pigment, undamaged and no repairs.
