Beautiful bronze short sword, Western Asia, likely Talish, late 2nd. mill. BC.
The sword was for trusting only. Fitted with grips and a very solid and rather heavy piece for the size. With a peculiar lobbed pommel, a straight double guard and with a pointy triangular blade,
Size: 39,5 cm.
Condition: Very fine. Intact sword with excellent fresh metal for the handle, the blade with surface corrosion and minor chips, but based on a solid metal core.
The bone grips are likely modern replacements or they are old ones, repaired or partly renewed, but they look antique and nice to the sword. Cleaning scratches to the handle.
Ex. Johan Dæhnfeldt Estate Collection (2013).
