Exceptional larger flat jade axe with the finest altered ancient surfaces - Spinach green that has become opaque and slightly glossy over the course of 5000 years!
Perhaps the best we've had of this nice type, Liangshu Culture and dating ca. 3000 BC.
Size: 13 cm. long and ca. 8 cm. wide.
Condition: Choice, a few minor dings to the side, but overall in a very nice condition.
Provenance: From the estate of the widow of Tony Lee, who bought his collection of jade pieces at big London auctionhouses and dealers in the early 1950s. In 1959, the couple moved to Beijing, China, where Tony was stationed. We recently bought the jade pieces from the 90 years old Widow and everything is guaranteed ancient and as described and comes with our COA.
