A beautyful polished neolithic jade axe, dating to the Hồng Bàng period (early 3rd. - late 2nd. Mill. BC.
The axe measure 59 x 84 x 7 mm.
The edge is razor sharpe except for a few minor dents. All sides are completely polished - giving the axe a slim and attractive design.
A rare & choice quality axe made of a piece of jade in black & brown colors.
Around 1200 BC. the distinctive and famous Dong Song culture evolved as a bronzeage culture and the use of stone tools would predate Dong Song.
Stonetools were used in the first few centuries of Dong Song, simultaniously with bronze tools and weapons.
