A superb quality large pottery attendant or official, dating to the earlier Ming Dynasty, 1450-1500 AD.
The male official stands in a fine two-colour blue & torqoise glazed robe. Finely painted facial details. He holds a box or a chest in his left arm - the right hand is not missing - the figure is made to look as if the sleeve of the robe is longer than the arm.
This type of figure is among the best bglazed and painted tomb pottery figures made during the Ming Dynasty.
Size: 32-33 cm. in height - an impressive piece.
Condition: Superb, well preserved glaze and pigment, undamaged and no repairs.
