A superb gilt bronze figure of Buddha Amitayus. Sinotibetan. Qing, likely Qianlong period, around 1770.

Buddha is seated in dhyanasana on a rectangular throne, both hands in dhyana mudra and wearing ornate jewellery. The kalasha and the mandorla is both present.

Exceptional engravings and many fine details on this unusual piece.

Height: Approx 20 cm.

Condition: Superb, finely preserved gilt and pigment, some underlying luster and old patina, very attractive. These figures often misses the kalasha and the mandorla, since these are loose to the figure, so intact figures are rare.
