Lovely huge jade carving of a Tiger or Dragon, Chinese, Achaistic style of the Zhou Dynasty, likely 19th.-20th. century, but could be much older.
Perhaps the most impressive large plaque we've ever had, combining an very beautiful and unique jade stone with artistic qualities in the carving and polishing. The stone is spinach green in the central areas, gradually changing to a deep mahogany at the rim and tail - fantastic piece that would be a highlight in any collection.
Size: ca. 31-32 cm. long and very broad.
This carving was bought at an artdealer in Hong Kong ca. 25-30 years and since then in a Danish Estate Collection
