| Highly impressive doomed shaped stamp seal. Syrian, 2nd.-1st. mill B.C. Height: 23-24 mm. The seal depicts the Storm God's symbolic goat underneath a crescent symbol. Superbly carved details in an attractive hard stone, possible agate (?). Condition: Superb! Beautyful stone quality. Provenance: This seal comes from a large and old swedish private collection sold recently at the largest antique auction house in Scandinavia at their anual De Luxe auction. The antiquities from this collection were all purchased during the 1950s at Viktoria Lindströms Antikhandel, Stockholm. All items from this collection are exceptional quality, even the minor pieces. The sale broke all records and several of the pieces went at 40.000-50.000 USD! | ||
