Chinese CLOISONNE Incense Burner, in the form of an IBIS with brass filigree tail feathers and semi-precious stones standing a full 21 inches in height on a tri-footed round base with a diameter of 9". Japanese earthenware WHISTLE (that works) from SETO in the form of a deity with bulging eyes, long beard and pot belly partially covered with a fan. This was apparently in use in the early 19th C. as an alarm while out walking at night or perhaps just for children to enjoy in the daytime! There are some losses at the back on the right side which are shown in the pictures. Well modeled, functional and unique! Dimensions are 2 3/8 of an inch (6 cms) x 1 5/8 " or 4.2 cms. 1800 - 1868, Edo.

Japanese Ivory Netsuke of a Man beating on a mokyugo bell (wooden bell for a Buddhist monastery) standing in his kimono and zori sandals. Wonderful detail, even on the soles of his feet! Chinese pottery JUNYAO DISH Southern Song Dynasty, the interior all under a thick pale lavender glaze firing ivory around the rim and pooling evenly on the underside above a brown-washed biscuit footrim. There is a restored (gold lacquer) break to the rim area that is less than .5 inch of 1.25 cm in length. (see photo) There is also a very small (pin-head size) kiln flaw on the rim as well.
