Sold to Fl. for 3 seals from a Buddhist Temple named Kanzan-Ji in Tokyo, Shimoya.
Three large Japanese SEALS, two stone, and one wood. Two of the seals have covers in brocade. One of the seals has an engraving on it. The last seal which is 1.5" x 1.5" has a seal on BOTH sides. Condition is excellent for all three seals. Circa: 19th Century. Dimensions of the two with covers are both 1.75" in height by 1.25" x 1.25."

Chinese Longquan celadon DISH, well modeled with a soft pale blue-green glaze applied overall except the very thin foot rim which shows a buff colored biscuit color. There is a faint band around the outside of the dish near the rim. There is a small (size of a wooden match head) area inside the cavetto (see photo) where the glaze did not adhere. Otherwise in good condition. Circa: Southern Song Dynasty, 13th Century. Dimensions: Diameter is 5 1/16 inches or 12.2 cms.

Japanese COPPER BOWL, engraved in a scrolling floral design with traces of gilting and dated in eight Kanji, "Enryaku 3"(see enlargement # 4 & 5) Diameter is 10.75 inches, height is 4.5 inches. Circa, late Edo era, 1800-1868. Condition is good, though there are some traces of oxidation over 3-4% of the total cavetto.

Very Shibui Japanese cast-iron body Tetsubin TEA KETTLE with a Bronze Lid and a Plum Blossom knob! The inside of the top is signed in four Kanji (characters) and says in part, "Kin-Se-Do." The handle is a wonderfully scalloped shape. Condition is fine. The dimensions are height 9 inches, 22.9 cms. and diameter is 7.5 inches or 19cms. Circa 1860-1890.

Some damage to the upper far right panel, but the entire back was restored in Japan recently. Black lacquer frame with metal corner protectors. LARGE 14.4 inch diameter JAPANESE Blue & White porcelain BOWL from the late Edo era. This bowl which was made with the "lost-wax" method of design/glazing has a flying crane in the center surrounded with bird and floral catouches. There is a kiln mark on the back in underglaze blue. Because this bowl was made prior to the artificial German dyes; it is a rich deep colbalt blue color. There is a hairline crack which is barely discernable from the front and a small rim chip.
