Korean, Mid-Koryo Dynasty (1123-1146, King Injong) bluish-faintly crackled celadon (Kingfisher colour" and with "mishima" chrysanthemums and a key fret borders (in white and black) around both the upper, lower and outer lip of this porcelain CUP STAND. From the Carl Kempe Collection of Korean Ceramics, #881, deaccensioned from the Ulricehamn Museum in Sweden. Exhibited and published in "Ostasiatiska Museet," 1966, # 64. Two labels on base. Five different size bottoms of Thailand stonewear covered BOXES from Sawankhalok kilns, 15th-16th Century. 4 of the 5 pieces have an underglaze blue decoration, one(the largest piece with a 2.5 inch (6.35 cms.)diameter has a blue ring around the top and bottom. The smallest has a diameter of only 1.5 inches or 3.8 cms. Condition varies from excellent for the largest and second largest piece to fair with rim chips on all three of the smallest diameter items.

Two pages from an old Japanese Book,professionally joined and hinged in Japan, depicts a "Matsuri," of end of the summer party. Vibrant and alive with action, from the grandpa and bald grandma through the middle aged to the young, vibrant and babies embraced...this scene comes alive! The artist was "Matsuri," and the book was published in 1908. Condition is excellent, no foxing, or tears or repairs. Dimensions are 10.5" x 7.5".

Korean 10-sided "HONEY POT" or "seokganju" or "oja" are the most uniquely 'Korean' of pots. This particular example (#3 of 5) is larger than the other three and is darker in color. It's base is also less indented than the other 5 honey pots available on this site. This comes with its original lid. Hand Made IRANIAN (Persia) COPPERWARE BOWL with banded incised pattern around both the inside and outside rims. There is additional patterned design inside the cavetto, as well as hand hammered marks on the outside of the bowl. Very nice patina. Diameter is 5.75 inches or 14.5 cms and the height is 2 inches or 5 cms. Circa: early 20th Century perhaps earlier.

Excellent condition except for some slight scratching of the glaze inside the cavetto; but no chips, cracks, fritting or restorations. 12" x 2.5" "Ishi-zara" meaning stoneware in Japanese,with a pinkish-buff beige glaze. Probably from a Seto area kiln, used originally for serving food. Chinese pottery JUNYAO DISH Southern Song Dynasty, the interior all under a thick pale lavender glaze firing ivory around the rim and pooling evenly on the underside above a brown-washed biscuit footrim. There is a restored (gold lacquer) break to the rim area that is less than .5 inch of 1.25 cm in length. (see photo) There is also a very small (pin-head size) kiln flaw on the rim as well. Purchased from Sotheby's in Paris December 18, 2008. Overall condition is good but with three very small restorations to the inside rim and with some slight degradation overall as to be expected. The long tapering stem with raised bands along its length with a wide bowl cup and a foliated flaring rim covered with a thick crackled dark olive green glaze. Height is 5 inches (12.7 cms) and width is 4.5 inches (11.5 cns.) There is an orange number applied inside the stem (see picture) "C 278" from the Arthur M. Sackler Collections.
