Three small Japanese SEALS, carved from stone. These seals came from a Buddhist Temple called "Kanzan-Ji" in Tokyo, Shimoya. The heights are 1.25" and 1 inch and 1/2." There is vermillion sealpaste over the impressions of the seals. Condition is excellent. Circa: 19th Century.

A large diameter (14.25 inches (29 cms.) Chinese 19th Century off white porcelain BOWL. This IKEBANA BASKET is in ovoid form with a twisted loop handle woven in diagonal plait and is signed "Gyokkosai kore zo." It is in it's original kiriwood box "tomobako" with an insription and seal mark on the inside of lid. OFFERED @ Sotheby's, "Japanese Works of Art," New York, September 14, 1999, Lot 296, page 98.

A portable opium scale with a silver weight pan, and a weight and metal inlayed calibrated marks along the length of the rod. Some damage to pan and threads connecting pan to measuring rod. All in a wooden case with 8 different Kanji letters carved into the sliding wooden case cover. 14" inches in length (Outside of case) Rod is 12" in length. Very interesting and it's functional!

Japanese KUTANI pottery BOWL with turquoise glaze and overglaze enamel decoration of paris of fish (Sea Breem, a sign of happiness and prosperity) in a tri-format, all within a hexagonal foliate rim! There is a "star-crack," on the base (see photo #4) but it does not go through to the inside and it appears to be stable. Bowl measures 5 5/8" (14.2 cms.) in diameter x 1.75" (4.5 cms.) in depth. Early to Mid Meiji era, 1868-1890.

Five different size bottoms of Thailand stonewear covered BOXES from Sawankhalok kilns, 15th-16th Century. 4 of the 5 pieces have an underglaze blue decoration, one(the largest piece with a 2.5 inch (6.35 cms.)diameter has a blue ring around the top and bottom. The smallest has a diameter of only 1.5 inches or 3.8 cms. Condition varies from excellent for the largest and second largest piece to fair with rim chips on all three of the smallest diameter items.

Large (12 inches in height) KUTANI Japanese VASE with three cartouches, one with two kingfishers by a river and flowers, another a temple by the sea with mountains, and the last of fish underwater. The neck is decorated with phoenix birds and Buddhist symbols of scrolls. There is a Kutani mark on the bottom (see enlargement #4) Condition: some loss of decoration (color) on the neck and surrounding the cartouches. No cracks or chips or hairlines.
