A rare Korean octagonal porcelain Blue & White BOTTLE (vase) decorated with an autumn flower. Yi Dynasty, 18th/19th Century. Condition: There are general overall glaze scratches and some rubbing on the ribs in addition to some small hairline glaze cracks about 3/4 of an inch (2 cm) in length both inside and outside the neck rim and there are some "glaze pulls" that occurred during the firing process near the base on 4 of the 8 sides. Japanese wooden, blacklacquer Butsudan containing a RARE STANDING BUDDHA in Vitarka mudra; with an mandorla of swirling clouds and shining light. The Buddha figure is in perfect condition, no breaks or repairs. The bronze engraved hinges and clasps are original and in perfect order. Beautiful faded golden patina. The black lacquer of the case is in an unrestored condition with no loss or chips. There is some fading to the sides and back of the case. Height is 9.5 inches.Circa: Meiji era.
