Chinese porcelain blue (cobalt) monochrome glazed "tear-drop" elongated VASE of ovoid form and a tall slender tapering neck covered in a thick blue glaze. Ming 17th Century. The vase is of a dark rich, natural cobalt blue color thinning to a mushroom colored rim. The condition is good, minor glaze scratches, however, the neck is slightly misshaped. A PAIR of Chinese hand embroidered bucolic scenes framed with an antique gold faux bamboo and glare-proof glass. One scene is of two women in a house in garden with rocks and trees and the other is of a man fishing and a woman farming with bamboo, pine and pavillions. All the colors are soft and muted. Good detail. The borders are of floral displays interspersed with buddhist scrolls and sutras. Condition is excellent. 20.5 inches in height x 16.75 inches in width. Circa 1900-1920.
