An unusual Chinese sang-de-boeuf glazed baluster VASE, because it was "misfired, with iridescent flecking," as per Christies, see "Asian Works of Art," catalogue, LA, 10/06/2000 Lot# 204, pg. 55.The body above a spreading foot with a long ribbed neck leading up to the flaring rim; the interior with a faint CELADON glaze. The color is actually more like "crushed strawberries," darker than the normal sang-de-boeuf. Condition: absolutely perfect. Height is 12.5 inches or 31.8 cms...
