This Incense burner (censer) of squat proportions with a slightly everted rim and two stylized fish handles to the side is a grey buff stoneware with a blue-grey glaze, what the Chinese call "ge-yu." Kangxi period (1662-1722) This item was bought in Christie's "Asian Works of Art," auction, 10/5/2000 in L.A. Lot # 192, page 53. 5.75 inch diameter, or 14.6 cms. Chinese celadon, STEM CUP, MING Dynasty with provenance. The long tapering stem with raised bands along its length with a wide bowl cup and a foliated flaring rim covered with a thick crackled dark olive green glaze. Height is 5 inches (12.7 cms) and width is 4.5 inches (11.5 cns.) There is an orange number applied inside the stem (see picture) "C 278" from the Arthur M. Sackler Collections. Chinese stonewear (tea) BOWL with black Cizhou glaze applied thickly over the finely potted cup with a slightly everted rim. Song Dynasty. There are some "losses" as expected with some scratching on both the inside and outside of the cup. No apparent chips cracks or restorations. Diameter is 4.75 inches (12.2 cms) and height is 2 7/8 of an inch or (7.4 cms.) Note: the "red" color in the photographs are a reflection!

Large Chinese pottery Chizou VASE with archaic handles and lobed body with a soft cream thick glaze overall. Very well modeled with distinctive handles which were based upon earlier metallic shapes in Shang and Zhou dynasties. Height is 13 1/8 inches or (33 cm) and width of rim is 5.5 inches or (14 cm) There is some damage (glaze chip to base and 2 small glaze losses on body) as shown in photos but vase is in generally good overall condition.
