Japanese BRONZE VASE in baluster form with an indented 4 character POEM. The poem translates as, "Listening to the wind rustling the leaves in the bamboo grove." Wonderful patina. LARGE 14.4 inch diameter JAPANESE Blue & White porcelain BOWL from the late Edo era. This bowl which was made with the "lost-wax" method of design/glazing has a flying crane in the center surrounded with bird and floral catouches. There is a kiln mark on the back in underglaze blue. Because this bowl was made prior to the artificial German dyes; it is a rich deep colbalt blue color. There is a hairline crack which is barely discernable from the front and a small rim chip. Japanese Yellow glazed CENSER with three characters in turquoise relief and 3 characters inscribed on the back and also inside on the biscuit. Molded with handles on two sides gives this strange ceramic an "archaic" feel. This is definitely a late Edo era piece (1800-1860) but unusual. COndition is perfect.
