Unique Japanese celadon earthenware OKIMONO, of a Mother and her baby "KAPPA," or "water-spirits," modeled in a tender and loving embrace! Comes with the original kiriwood box with inscribed lid. Condition is excellent with one "Kama-kizu," on the back where the glaze didn't take. Height is 4.15 inches or 10.5 cms. Circa late Edo, 1820-1850.

Celadon glaze BOWL from Sawankhalok, Thailand, decorated with turned lines below a faux-foliated rim and combed lines with a simple double circle in the center. The outside had no decoration other than three broadly spaced bands. A clear olive green glaze. No glaze covering the footrim. Condition is excellent. Circa 19th Century. Diameter at rim is 9.1 inches. Height is 3" and diameter of footrim is 3.5"

Very Shibui Japanese cast-iron body Tetsubin TEA KETTLE with a Bronze Lid and a Plum Blossom knob! The inside of the top is signed in four Kanji (characters) and says in part, "Kin-Se-Do." The handle is a wonderfully scalloped shape. Condition is fine. The dimensions are height 9 inches, 22.9 cms. and diameter is 7.5 inches or 19cms. Circa 1860-1890.

Chinese, TANG Dynasty pottery baluster shaped BOWL on a spreading pedestal foot with SANCAI glaze. Deaccensioned from the Ulrichehamn Museum in Sweden, #1141; from the Tectus Collection. Purchased from Sotheby's in Paris December 18, 2008. Overall condition is good but with three very small restorations to the inside rim and with some slight degradation overall as to be expected. Dimensions: 2.75 inches (7 cms) in height x 3.75 inches (9 cms.) in width.

Chinese celadon, STEM CUP, MING Dynasty with provenance. The long tapering stem with raised bands along its length with a wide bowl cup and a foliated flaring rim covered with a thick crackled dark olive green glaze. Height is 5 inches (12.7 cms) and width is 4.5 inches (11.5 cns.) There is an orange number applied inside the stem (see picture) "C 278" from the Arthur M. Sackler Collections. Burmese Lacquer TEA STORAGE JAR with lid, with a design motif of "ku-nan-kan-byat" or Yunnan semicircle design and Zodiac animals in the rosettes. Condition is worn, there are spots were the orange-red lacquer has been rubbed off with constant handling, and the black lacquer underneath is exposed. This Jar was cut at the collar and so it sits approx. a 1/2" shorter than it should. This is not immediately evident. Dimensions are 8.5 inches in height and approx. 7.75" in diameter...
