Chinese stonewear (tea) BOWL with black Cizhou glaze applied thickly over the finely potted cup with a slightly everted rim. Song Dynasty. There are some "losses" as expected with some scratching on both the inside and outside of the cup. No apparent chips cracks or restorations. Diameter is 4.75 inches (12.2 cms) and height is 2 7/8 of an inch or (7.4 cms.) Note: the "red" color in the photographs are a reflection!

Chinese conical stoneware TEA BOWL with an iridescent glaze from the late Ming Dynasty. Excellent condition except for some slight scratching of the glaze inside the cavetto; but no chips, cracks, fritting or restorations. Height is 1 7/8 inch and the diameter is 4 1/2 inches.(4.8 x 11.4 cms.) Circa: 16th-17th Century.

Pair of Chinese porcelain BOWLS with STEMBOWL Covers decorated in polychrome enamels with HORSES against a persimon-red ground. Nien-Hao ( seal mark) of "Ta Ching Tung-Chih Nien Chih," Dynasty (1862-1875) and of the period. Condition: One is perfect, both top and bottom, the other has a rim chip in the bottom and the top is fine. Dimensions are 4.8 inches (15cms) in height and 4.1" (10.l4cms )in diameter.

Chinese porcelain VASE in rouleau form with cylindrical body and neck with a slightly expanded mouth. A scene (in underglaze colbalt blue) of two scholars reading under trees near their homes, under trees with towering mountains in the background; a motif first copied from an earlier scroll painting. The background is not white, but an oatmeal-colored, crackled glaze. Condition is excellent with only two small pin-head glaze bursts in the blue design area. Height is 9.8 inches or 24.9 cms...

Chinese pottery JUNYAO DISH Southern Song Dynasty, the interior all under a thick pale lavender glaze firing ivory around the rim and pooling evenly on the underside above a brown-washed biscuit footrim. There is a restored (gold lacquer) break to the rim area that is less than .5 inch of 1.25 cm in length. (see photo) There is also a very small (pin-head size) kiln flaw on the rim as well. Chinese stonewear Longquan celadon JAR in baluster shape with elongated shoulders and incised band of linked coins on the upper portion and an incised floral design of Peonies below. Very beautiful pale green-bluish celadon glaze. The unglazed portion of the vase and base and foot rim burnt brick red. Purchased at Sotheby's 22 March 2011 in New York City, provenance, the J.T. Large, 22.5" (57cms.)in height, CHINESE, VASE in baluster form. The elongated body and neck covered with a glaze of sang-de-boeuf dripping with iridescent purple, thinning to a cream tone to the edges of the flaring rim. Brown wash on the base where there is a small firing crack that does not show through on the inside. No other damage of any kind. Ships in a more than 100yr. old kiri-wood case.
