Chinese Longquan celadon "Lotus" stonewear JAR and Cover with a soft pale sea-green glaze over the incised baluster body rising from a recessed base to a short straight neck, the cover with broad foliate rim & stem finial. Large Chinese pottery Chizou VASE with archaic handles and lobed body with a soft cream thick glaze overall. Very well modeled with distinctive handles which were based upon earlier metallic shapes in Shang and Zhou dynasties. Height is 13 1/8 inches or (33 cm) and width of rim is 5.5 inches or (14 cm) There is some damage (glaze chip to base and 2 small glaze losses on body) as shown in photos but vase is in generally good overall condition. Circa: 16-17th Century.

The long tapering stem with raised bands along its length with a wide bowl cup and a foliated flaring rim covered with a thick crackled dark olive green glaze.
