A cast-metal Japanese, Buddhist ICON of "Monju Bosatsu," or "Manjusri," originally from the Kamakura Period (13th-14th C.) This casting is probably from the late Edo era, circa 1830-1850. Good condition. Height is 3.5 inches and width is 2 inches.

Japanese COPPER CANDLESTICKS with circular base and bobeche, height is 25.5 inches (64.8 cms.) Although not technically a pair because the patina is different (see photos) they have the same bold but subtle design. The design is "classical Edo era," from the 18th Century. Condition is good.

Japanese BRONZE VASE in baluster form with an indented 4 character POEM. The poem translates as, "Listening to the wind rustling the leaves in the bamboo grove." Wonderful patina. Height is 8 inches and the widest diameter at the shoulder is 4.75 inches. Circa: 1880-1910. Condition is good, no dents or dings or repairss or restorations.

Japanese COPPER BOWL, engraved in a scrolling floral design with traces of gilting and dated in eight Kanji, "Enryaku 3"(see enlargement # 4 & 5) Diameter is 10.75 inches, height is 4.5 inches. Circa, late Edo era, 1800-1868. Condition is good, though there are some traces of oxidation over 3-4% of the total cavetto.

Bronze (spun) Japanese CANDLE STAND from a Buddhist temple,with a design based on Chinese archaic designs; but the fine filigree work and quality of overall casting clearly indicates early 19th century Japanese craftsmanship! Very attractive patina! Circa: Late Edo period, 1820-40. Height is 18 inches (45.7 cms.) and the diameter at the base is 6 inches or 15.2 cms. Condition is good.

Japanese Bronze ELEPHANT sculpture skillfully depicted with a raised trunk, open mouth and spread ears, with a wooden base. The ivory tusks have been broken and repaired, otherwise the condition is good. The artist's name, "Mitsumoto" is incised on the foot (see enlargement#6)_Circa: Meiji era, 1880-1900.
