14" x 4.5" Very Good condition, with one hairline crack about 1" in length with a slight loss of glaze on outside rim. Also a circular crack inside bottom of bowl. Beautiful soft yellow glaze with 7 typical marks inside of bowl from organic material used as "saggars," during the firing process in kiln. This piece probably comes from the Seto area kilns. It's common everyday functional art, very Shibui, called, "Ishi-zara," or stone bowl by the Japanese...

Oversize Japanese SETO STONEWARE SAKI BOTTLE, with Cork, in an ash-wood crackle glaze, pale green-cream color. This is strikingly well potted, with a 1 inch long glaze crack on the neck. Otherwise, the condition is excellent. Height is 14 inches with a diameter of approx. 10" at the widest point. Cork is 3.25" x 2". Circa: 1890-1920.

12" x 2.5" "Ishi-zara" meaning stoneware in Japanese,with a pinkish-buff beige glaze. Probably from a Seto area kiln, used originally for serving food. The small marks inside are from stones or beans used to seperate stacked pottery being fired in kilns.There are two veru small chips in the underside of the rim (see photo) Unusual to find outside of Japan.

Two cracks running from the rim towards inside approx. 1.5-2" in length; but this is to be expected in a evryday,functional pottery bowl as this! Veru Shibui. circa pre 1920.
