Large JAPANESE Cast-Iron Tea Kettle or Tetsubin with a pine and flying crane motif on the body in relief and the lid with a pine cone finial. Condition is good, some wear to the edge of the lid. Overall height is 10.5 inches or 26.8 cms and the height of the body itself is 5.5 inches or 14 cms. and the widest diameter near the base is 8 inches or 20.4 cms. Circa: early 20th Century.

Dark brown Japanese wooden lacquer circular CHAIRE or (tea container)with a simple (shibui) five line design on both the top and sides of the lid and repeated again twice on the lower portion of the chaire. Lacquer on the outside has a few minor losses (doesn't distract from the overall effect) and two small cracks on the inside. Height is 4.5 inches or (11.5 cms.) and diameter is 4 inches or (10 cms.) Taisho era, 1910-1920. note: color of all photos appear lighter than actual object's color...

Japanese porcelain CHAIRE (green tea container) with a stag horn lid and silk bag and kiriwood box with two Kangi (letters). This beautiful undamaged Chaire is finely potted with a swirl on the unglazed base (picture #5) and a very subtle brownish colored glaze applied as highlights over a black background overall. Height is 2 15/16 inches (7.5 cms.) Late Edo era, 1890's.

Very Shibui Japanese cast-iron body Tetsubin TEA KETTLE with a Bronze Lid and a Plum Blossom knob! The inside of the top is signed in four Kanji (characters) and says in part, "Kin-Se-Do." The handle is a wonderfully scalloped shape. Condition is fine. The dimensions are height 9 inches, 22.9 cms. and diameter is 7.5 inches or 19cms. Circa 1860-1890.

Japanese cast iron TEA KETTLE "Tetsubin" with a dimpled exterior design and an acorn filial on the lid. The handle does not move too much either way. Condition is good, with some rust inside as is usual. Total height with handle is almost 9 inches and the body itself is 4 inches. The diameter is 6.75 inches. Circa: Early 20th Century.

Japanese CHAIRE or (Tea storage container) in porcelain with a dark brown glaze and yellowish highlights the thick glaze ending neatly above the foot with a "swirl" in the base's biscuit! Topped with an ivory cap (and gold foil) all in a faded silk orange and gold bag in a kiriwood box with an inscription and orange seal mark. Height 3.5 inches (9 cms.) Condition is perfect. Circa: 1912-1920.
