Very attractive earthenware Vietnamese JAR from a old woman potter in a small village famous for its pottery near Hoi Anh (mid-coast of Vietnam) with a light yellowish-brown glaze and impressed coin design on the shoulder! LArge BRASS BOWL (suitable for fruit) from the Indonesian Island of Java, with no design. Diameter is 10 1/8" at the rim and 5 3/4" diameter at the bottom. The height is 4 1/2". There is a "beaten metal" look to the sides with a small 1 1/2" crack near the bottom (see pix #5) which makes this bowl not suitable for liquids. Circa: 1930's.

Pagan was as ancient capital(850-1300 AD) that was built by volunteer's contributions seeking "merit." This monastery is particularly intersting due to it's many gabled roofs, and it is constructed entirely of wood. Condition is good. Dimensions are 15" x 11."

A BURMESE ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR of "Tharba Gate," (looking west towards the Irrawaddy River, built in 1101 for the old walled city of Pagan, Burma. The walls were estimated to have been built around 850 AD. There are "native spirits," one male on the right and one female on the left where people leave small offerings of flowers and fruit. Painted by a neknown Burmese artist, Tin Aung Htaik who lives in Rangoon. SIze is 18.5 x 13.75 inches.

There is some damage (from excessive moisture/climate, in the lower right hand corner. The work is signed and dated, 1970 (see pix #4) Overall dimensions of frame are 28 inches x 24 inches or 71.1 cms x 60.9 cms.The glass is "glare-proof" glass. The etching itself is 14 3/8" x 12 1/4" or 36.5 x 31.1 cms.
