Large Indonesian (Java) BRASS SPITTOON for Betel nut

Large BRASS SPITTOON or Cuspidor, from the Indonesian Island of Java with intricate floral and geometric designs! There is some slight damage, a repair to the upper inside rim (see photo #2), a repair to the body and a repair to the base. All of these blemishes do not noticeably detract from the overall design, beauty and interest of this wonderfully shaped and hand-made brass vessel! The height is 12 inches or 30.5 cms. and the diameter at the top is 10 inches or 25.4 cms. Circa: 1930's, perhaps earlier.
