Japanese BIZEN flower VASE in the form of a monkey holding a banana-like fruit seated beside a tree stump. Clearly defined and interesting facial features. Typical brown Bizen-ware glaze; but with a beautiful aged patina! Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or restorations. Height is 6 inches. Circa early Taisho, pre- 1920.
