Chinese "water-chestnut" VASE, Kangxi with Provenance

A Chinese "pi-ch'i p'ing," or water-chestnut shaped, copper-red porcelain VASE from the Kangxi period (1662-1722) of compressed globular form set with a thick tall neck with a slightly flaring mouth, all supported on a low foot, covered in a thin copper red glaze draining at the mouth and around the middle of the body to a slight greenish tinge and pooling to a deep red at the shoulders and foot, all beneath a fine network of crackles in the glaze. Lot #325 @ Sotheby's New York City, March 30, 2006. Provenance: Frank Caro, successor to CT Loo label on base. Height is 15.5 inches or 39.3 cms. Price and Condition report available upon request.
