Japanese porcelain Imari BOWL "Akadama" in bell form with a dragon design inside the cavetto,with a floral rim with underglaze blue and green, orange and yellows. There is a tassel design on the outside with oranges, greens and yellows. No mark on the bottom. Condition is good, the colors are bright, except for the green cloud marks inside the bowl, and there is a small 1/2 inch hairline crack in the rim. There is also a very small (twice the size of a pin head) loss of glaze about an inch below the rim on the inside. However, the colors, especially on the outside) are in very bright condition!Includes old kiriwood box & cover. Height is 3.25 inches and the diameter is 6.5 inches. Circa late Edo era, 1840-1860.
