Sale Pending - with Bluett,London label.
Chinese ceramic, Yongzheng (1723-1735) porcelain, SOUFFLE, Coral-glazed VASE with a baluster shaped body rising to a wide flaring mouth from a high spreading base. There is a "bow-string," band around the shoulder of the vase. White glaze appears on the uppermost outer lip of the rim and interior. The base is cut high, with no glaze. The biscuit is typical of Kangxi/Yongzheng fine porcelains: pure dense white. The souffle glaze was applied through a small diameter bamboo tube with a fine silk mesh applied over the end and "blown on" to the biscuit before firing a second time. There is a late (1980's) "Bluett/London" label on the base. Height is 7 1/8" or 18 cms.Condition report available upon request.
