Japanese KUTANI pottery BOWL with turquoise glaze and overglaze enamel decoration of paris of fish (Sea Breem, a sign of happiness and prosperity) in a tri-format, all within a hexagonal foliate rim! There is a "star-crack," on the base (see photo #4) but it does not go through to the inside and it appears to be stable. Bowl measures 5 5/8" (14.2 cms.) in diameter x 1.75" (4.5 cms.) in depth. Early to Mid Meiji era, 1868-1890.
